Abstract

The flows represent the key expression of the spatial interactions. However, the official statistical providers often ignore them or make them available at superior scales of analysis – county, region or state. The flows between the local administrative units are hard to collect but they can be easily estimated. In this paper we will use several models of estimation, models that include a specific role of the spatial distance in the description of the territorial mobility. Three issues were separately analyzed: the commuting problem in Romania, the students’ mobility and the touristic potential flows. The results were mapped and the cartographic products reveal the lack of cohesion in the manifestation of the spatial structures, at national level.
