Abstract

This article aims is to analyse droughts in the lower basin of the river Jijia for the year 2012 and determine the type of drought that affected the area, using mathematical methods (functions) and GIS applications. They are based on hydrographical network analysis, geographical features, network piezometrical levels, groundwater level data series, runoff and rainfall. Detailed analysis of meteorological, hydrological and hydrogeological data leads to a hydrological and hydrogeological drought in the lower basin of the river Jijia and to reappraisal of water management aspect.
