Lucrările Seminarului Geografic "Dimitrie Cantemir"

Papers of the “Dimitrie Cantemir” Geographic Seminar journal has been published by “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iaşi since 1981, as a natural continuation of the journal with the title Lucrările Societăţii Geografice „Dimitrie Cantemir” (The Papers of the “Dimitrie Cantemir” Geographic Society) published between 1937 and 1943.

This seminar is one of the numerous scientific events organized by the Faculty of Geography and Geology, University „Al.I.Cuza” of Iaşi, covering a large range of geographical themes, in order to present the most valuable results of the geographical research in Iasi and in Romania, on the whole. Starting with the second issue, articles written in a foreign language are included, and since 2005 (when the 25th journal was published) the papers are exclusively published in a foreign language (English or French), with an abstract in another foreign language of international use.

The selection of the published papers has been consistently done by following the principles of scientific research. The themes of the papers were not limited to a certain direction of geographic research, giving the opportunity, to the researchers in Iasi and in other universities in Romania or abroad, to publish the results of their research work. Due to this, the journal has gained a good recognition on a national and international level, next to other similar publications. The rhythmicity of the publication was strictly respected, and the two-in-one volumes were exclusively caused by technical reasons.
